A Chance to See Legislators Up Close

Whether it’s property taxes, growth, or workforce challenges—local and state government affects us all. 

Through its Government Advisory Council, the Bartow Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Bartow Economic Development council, is bringing legislators directly to local business leaders at the 2026 Legislative Wrap-Up Breakfast on July 17 at the Bartow Civic Center.

The exclusive event, open to Chamber and EDC members, will allow attendees to hear from elected officials about the outcomes of the 2026 legislative session and the impact of recent legislative decisions on businesses and economic development throughout Polk County. Participants have the opportunity to submit questions in advance for legislators to address during the program.

Invited elected officials include: Senate President Ben Albritton, Senator Colleen Burton, Representative Jennifer Kincart Jonsson, Representative Jon Albert, Representative Jennifer Canady and  Representative Hilary Holley. 

“Understanding the legislative decisions made in Tallahassee helps our business leaders stay informed and better prepared for the opportunities and challenges ahead,” said Michelle Helms, President & CEO of the Bartow Chamber of Commerce.
